McCarron is added to the practice squad.

The Cincinnati Bengals are exploring the possibility of adding quarterback to their roster, with a recent workout of XFL quarterback A.J. McCarron, as reported by Kelsey Conway of the Enquirer.
McCarron, a fifth-round pick by the Bengals in the 2014 NFL Draft, was spotted at the Bengals’ facility donning an orange jersey with the number 4, saying he’s working out for the team.
In his NFL career, McCarron had stints with several teams, including the Bengals, Bills, Raiders, Texans, and Falcons.
Unfortunately, McCarron’s last NFL season in 2021 was cut short by an ACL injury while playing for the Falcons.
Earlier in 2023, McCarron made a transition to the XFL, playing for the St. Louis BattleHawks. His time in the XFL included a notable viral moment in February, following a victory.

Reflecting on his decision to move to the XFL, McCarron said he could’ve remained in the NFL as a backup for better money but wanted to actually play in order to be able to create moments for his kids.
At 33 years old, McCarron brings a wealth of experience. The Bengals’ interest in the veteran quarterback signals there might be some concerns with Joe Burrow’s ankle.
