Welcome to Week 15. We are heading into the home stretch. There are games I mentioned featuring teams that are looking to get a playoff spot or move up in the seeding, then some games you’re only watching if you have money on it.
If you lost in the fantasy playoffs last week and need a reason to stay interested in football, let me give you some games you should consider wagering on this week.
Spreads To Wager On
Seattle Seahawks (-5.5) vs. Carolina Panthers
The Seahawks suffered their first road loss of the season against the Rams last week. Still 6-1 on the road, they’re 4-0 when playing in Eastern Standard Timezone. They’re also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games.
Carolina has lost six of their last seven games, only one of those losses was below seven points and they’re just 1-4 against the spread in their last five.
The fact Rashaad Perry is done for the year should not affect the team, Chris Carson should be able to thrive against a defense that’s giving up almost 140 rushing yards-per-game.
New England Patriots (-9) vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The Patriots are in a rare spot with back-to-back losses, including their first home loss since 2017.
They’re going to make a statement in a game they should obviously win. The Bengals are in full evaluation mode ranking in the bottom 10 in points allowed and points scored.
The Patriots’ offense has been struggling to score lately, but they have a good chance to rebound in this favorable matchup.
Totals To Wager On
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions Over 47.5
The Buccaneers are one of the most entertaining teams: they have the two top receivers, their pass defense is one of the worst, while their run defense is one of best, and their quarterback can throw for 400 yards and four TDs, while throwing five interceptions.
This week, they’re taking on another team with a bad defense. Both teams are in the bottom three in terms of passing yards-per-game.
Tampa Bay alone has scored 30+ points in four of their last six games. We’re going to see the ball move a lot, an excellent opportunity for some scoring,
The Over/Unders
Houston Texans vs. Tennesse Titans Over 50
The Titans are one of the hottest teams in football thanks in large part to Ryan Tannehill commanding this offense, while Houston is in a must-win situation to stay in first of the AFC South. Both teams have the ability to score, ranking 10th and 11th in points scored per game.
Secondly, both of these defenses are injury-plagued in every facet. Both of these teams can almost score at will with the weapons they have.
Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers Under 41
The last time these two teams faced off it was a 10-3 defensive standoff. Both these defenses are playing well; the Bears have given up under 20 points in three of their last five games while the Packers have done the same in two of their last four.
Also, remember, it’s a December game in Green Bay, and the temperatures will be in the teens throughout the game.
Dog Of The Day
Jacksonville Jaguars (+6.5) vs. Oakland Raiders
Both these teams are coming off some really bad games losing by a combined 54 points. The Jags are eliminated from the playoffs while the Raiders are barely hanging onto playoff hope.
These defenses have not been able to stop anybody; both are in the bottom eighth in points surrendered per game.
