The NFL is getting blasted for trying to restart Monday night’s game so quickly after a scary incident on the field.
On Monday, Bills DB Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field after the tackle and had to be given CPR while concerned players looked on.

After Hamlin was taken away in an ambulance, officials on the field gave both teams 5 minutes to warm up in an effort to restart the game.
Eventually, both head coaches took their teams to the locker rooms after refusing to restart the game.

Fans blasted the NFL for giving players five minutes to get back on the field after a traumatic experience.
Imagine a coworker/friend of yours needed CPR for 9 minutes in your office and then after your boss was like – take 5 minutes, everyone. and then get back to work.
That's basically what the NFL just tried to do. Total garbage.

Whenever the league talks about player safety we should all remember that the NFL tried to make the players warm up for five minutes and restart this game before the coaches stepped in

The #NFL suggesting a return to play after ‘five minutes’ this evening tells you everything you need to know about how the league prioritizes player safety.#5minutes

Btw the NFL saying "We'll give these guys five minutes to get ready after they watched someone potentially die on the field right next to them" might be their most shameless moment ever. They are insane.

If the coaches and players hadn’t said anything, the NFL would have had these guys playing 5 minutes after seeing one of their peers receive CPR for several minutes 🤦🏾♀️
