Last week, Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota suffered a hamstring injury that may sideline for this the team’s upcoming game. The Titans plan to start Matt Cassell this week but the team also opted to sign veteran journeyman QB Brandon Weeden as an insurance policy. The Titans were subsequently crushed by Twitter for choosing Weeden over free agent Colin Kaepernick, who seemed to be a perfect fit for Tennessee’s offense.
With QB Marcus Mariota banged up, Titans planning to sign free agent QB Brandon Weeden, per @FieldYates.

Do not, under any circumstances, tell me that Kaepernick is unsigned because he can't play. Brandon Weeden? Lol. https://t.co/m1MUYxn8Uv

Brandon Weeden is straight garbage. And yet, he gets a job over Kaepernick. The NFL is stupid

😂😂😂😂. This is hilarious. So a certain QB who’s name is Colin Kaepernick doesn’t fit the Titans system, but somehow Weeden does 🤔🤔🤔 https://t.co/Ivnx7a2bix

Colin Kaepernick's career passer rating: 88.9 Weeden's: 76.0.
And Weeden hasn't played in the NFL since Dec. 27, 2015. https://t.co/MbNU2r72BH— Peter Bailey-Wells (@pbaileywells) October 3, 2017

Brandon Weeden. Another QB in the long list of QB that aren't nearly as qualified or as skilled as Colin Kaepernick, but somehow get signed. https://t.co/8fYxW8NFgH

Ah yes, Weeden. Whose style is nothing like Mariota’s (unlike Kaepernick) and whose resume is nowhere near as impressive. https://t.co/xr5BLsGMRB

Honestly, from a pure football perspective, pretty ridiculous they didn't sign Kaepernick. Very similar skill set to Mariota. Weeden STINKS. https://t.co/MO9jZcMPqk

The Titans signed Brandon Weeden, a 33-year-old Super 8 night manager, over Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback who actually fits their offense. https://t.co/UHgR2bhoJy

Both Brandon Weeden and Colin Kaepernick have thrown 30 career interceptions.
Weeden: 31 TDs & 25 starts
