New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll has either given bulletin board material to the Philadelphia Eagles or is playing masterful mind games, depending on your point of view, as he made a comment that could be perceived as a shot against Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. The Giants and Eagles face off on Thursday Night Football this week.

While discussing the Eagles’ much-maligned passing attack, Brian Daboll — who is undoubtedly currently coaching to save his job — said that the tape shows wide receiver AJ Brown being open “a lot.”

That analysis, however, does not line up with Brown’s output thus far this season, as he has just 19 catches for 194 yards and a touchdown through five games.

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll says Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown is getting open “a lot”

Daboll’s comments come as the Eagles’ offense has been under scrutiny for its performances this season, particularly as it relates to the passing game, as Pro Bowl wide receiver AJ Brown has cut a clearly frustrated figure this season.

Thus, some Giants fans are a bit annoyed with the fourth-year head coach for giving the Birds such obvious bulletin board material ahead of the game, while others appreciate the mind games.

Daboll is going to need use every advtange at his disposal to upset the Eagles on Thursday night, as the Giants head into the game as 7.5-point underdogs despite playing at home at MetLife Stadium.
