The 2022 Denver Broncos were a major let down. New coach Nathaniel Hackett didn’t work out, new quarterback Russell Wilson didn’t work out, and Super Bowl aspirations never materialized.
Now with a new coach in the much sought after Sean Payton, the Broncos are turning a page and are focusing on next season, but first, they’ll need to deal with the news that one of their key players will miss some time.
Javonte Williams Is Still Recovering
Denver running back Javonte Williams could miss multiple games in 2023 while recovering from his knee ligament tears injury, according to ESPN’s Jeff Legwold
At a fundraising event for his foundation earlier this season, Williams told reporters that he hoped to be back “by training camp,” but given the scope of the injuries — torn ACL and LCL in week 4 of last season against the Raiders — it’s certainly possible that he might not be ready to start the season.
Ravens running backs J.D. Dobbins and Gus Edwards recently struggled to get fully get back from the ACL tears that they suffered in training camp of previous season.
Williams should be a key player the new Broncos offense under Sean Payton’s once he’s back on the fold.
Hopefully Williams hasn’t lost speed or ability due to his injury, and won’t miss too much time to start 2023.
