If you haven’t already heard, WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark is a really, really big deal.
Clark, who broke the NCAA all-time scoring record at Iowa, has already revolutionized the WNBA, creating ticket sales and TV ratings that are unlike anything the league had ever seen before.
But being a superstar has its downsides, and it appears Clark is learning that lesson the hard way.

Caitlin Clark Fakes A Smile In Picture With Fans At Local Grocery Store
The Indiana University-Indianapolis women’s basketball program posted a tweet Monday night showing a pair of its players pictured with Clark at a local grocery store.
But Clark looked less than pleased at having her grocery shopping interrupted.
“Caitlin with the fake smile that kids give when they donât want a picture taken,” one fan said of the pictures.
“She had to take 25 pictures at the Kroger look at her face,” another fan wrote.
Clark has been adamant about how much she appreciates her immense fan support.
That’s especially true of young fans, Clark says.
âThe people I idolized in my life were, you know, either professional womenâs basketball players, professional soccer players, and thatâs what I wanted to be growing up,â she said before the WNBA draft in April. âAnd I think, you know, understanding how big of an impact that can have on a young girlâs life is super important.
âSo I always try to make as much time as I can for them. And just to see them scream your name or have your jersey on â thatâs something that never gets old.â
But sometimes you just want to go to the grocery story uninterrupted.
Unfortunately for Clark, there aren’t many places that she’ll be able to do that these days. So she’s just going to have to learn to adjust to life as a superstar.
