The NFL Combine testing session began today with quarterbacks and pass catchers taking the field to participate in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, and broad jump.
There were certainly storylines surrounding the day’s events, but one player in particular stole the show with an incredible combination of speed and burst.
Memphis Tigers’ WR Calvin Austin III blew scouts away with some absolutely incredible testing numbers. Those outputs included an 11-foot-3-inch broad jump, as well as a near 40-inch vertical.

Most impressive of all, though, was a sub-4.4 40-yard dash. The performance was the lowest time recorded of any player on the day.
Watch Austin turn on the burners below in an awesome display of pure speed.

The 4.32 dash time is reportedly the lowest recorded since 2018.
Austin is projected to be a mid-round selection in the upcoming NFL Draft. While at Memphis, the wideout tallied more than 2,500 career receiving yards and found the endzone 22 times. Last year, alone, the speedster recorded an 1,100-yard season and a team high 74 catches.
You can be sure that a number of NFL teams will be vying to add a proven playmaker that can take the tops off of opposing defenses. Austin’s draft stock is only bound to rise following his performance at the Combine Thursday afternoon.
