If you’re around my age and grew up watching NBA basketball in the early 2000s, then we’re in the same boat watching all of our childhood sports heroes retire.
Basketball fans took another hit on Monday morning after (should be) future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony officially announced his retirement.
In doing so, Anthony delivered an inspirational message with an awesome retirement video. Give it a watch for yourself.

Did anyone else get a chill down their spine?
Although Carmelo Anthony never did win a ring, he’ll go down as one of the best pure scorers in league history. The dude was a walking bucket. Especially during his time with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks.
Melo wraps up his career averaging 22.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. He also earned All-Stars honors in 12 of his 19 years in the NBA.
Basketball fans couldn’t help but show their appreciation for everything Anthony has done throughout his career.
End of an era !! Congrats my guy ❤️
