The Cavinder twins, Haley and Hanna, appeared on Today on Thursday and now a whole lot of fans are convinced they are going to be joining WWE as wrestlers.
The move would certainly make sense.
The Cavinder twins partnered with more than 40 brands while playing college basketball for Fresno State and the University of Miami.
Among those companies to work with Haley and Hanna Cavinder have been Champs Sports, Campbell Soup, The Cheesecake Factory, Boost Mobile, and, wait for it… WWE.
They were one of WWE’s main targets when the company began its “Next In Line” (NIL) program.
“We say this often in terms of how we evaluate talent and their potential — a talent’s biggest ability, in our eyes, is their marketability. They clearly have demonstrated that in spades,” James Kimball, WWE’s senior vice president/head of talent strategy, told The Athletic last November. “They have connected and built a meaningful fan base across multiple platforms. They check a lot of boxes.”
Kimball added, “We see high-potential talent, and we’ve expressed that to them.”
As part of the deal, the Cavinder twins were scheduled to visit the WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando once the basketball season came to an end.
“It’s just something that aligns with our audience — it’s fitness, it’s entertainment, it’s fun,” Haley Cavinder said about the opportunity. “And you never know. We could be a tag team.”
Thursday, in their first media appearance since Miami’s great run in the NCAA tournament, Haley and Hanna Cavider were asked on Today, “There’s a lot of speculation you guys could be entering professional wrestling and the WWE?”
“Yeah, we love the WWE,” both twins responded in tandem.
“Their fanbase, the sport, their fitness side of it, that fits Hanna and I’s brand and aligns great with us,” said Haley. “So they’re a great partner and yeah, we’re very excited with the future with them.”
NCAA women’s basketball stars @CavinderHaley and @CavinderHanna opened up to @LlamasNBC about their retirement from the sport and what’s next in their new chapter, including their deal with WWE: "I think it came down to just optimizing all the opportunities we have ahead of us." pic.twitter.com/QSmXozylkC

And that was all it took for fans to go hog wild with even more speculation that the Cavinder Twins are about to become the next Bella Twins.
