Colby Covington isn’t backing down from his controversial comments about Leon Edwards late father.
Earlier this week, Covington went viral when he said he would drag Edwards to hell, and they could say what’s up to Edwards’ dead father, who was murdered when Edwards was 13 years old
Since then, several fighters, including Sean Strickland and Jon Jones, have come forward to condemn Covington’s comments.
Despite the backlash, Covington doubled down and accused Edwards’ father of being a “drug lord” and “sex trafficker” before he was murdered.
“What about all the victims of the harm Leon’s father did to them, he was a sex trafficker, he was a drug lord, he was a scumbag, why would I feel bad, I have no sympathy for that guy, what about all the victims’ families that live on right now with all the things that he did to them…the truth hurts and that’s why people hate me because I’m not afraid to say the truth.”
While Edwards admitted that his father was a gang leader he never specified what crimes he committed before getting murdered.
Edwards has already vowed to knock out Covington at UFC 296 for his comments.
