Everyone has an opinion on Colin Kaepernick’s reasoning for deciding to not stand for the national anthem. Like, literally, everyone.
Some opinions are well-reasoned and thoughtful while others, well, others are Tony Stewart. Many others are somewhere in between.
Regardless of your opinion, Kaepernick has already accomplished much of what he wanted in the mere fact that people are talking about it. Even his birth mother, Heidi Russo has weighed in and her thoughts on the situation are more than a little bit surprising.
@Kaepernick7 There's ways to make change w/o disrespecting & bringing shame to the very country & family who afforded you so many blessings.

@Kaepernick7 The path less traveled doesn't need to be one of destruction. #beenthere #besmarter #berespectful

Never said standing up for injustice is wrong. Clearly there's a problem. Don't twist what I said to make a racial point.

After reading those, I am not sure what she hoped to accomplish, but like I said, EVERYONE has an opinion on this.
