Colorado’s hire of Deion Sanders to be their head football coach back in December of 2022 was widely considered to be high-risk, high-reward. The verdict is still out on whether it will ultimately pay off, but it’s definitely provided us a lot of great storylines.

Over 30 scholarship players from last season at Colorado have entered the transfer portal this year. While that’s more than most programs, that’s the way Deion Sanders is running the program. They’ve welcomed well over 30 transfers for the upcoming season, so it evens out.
Players elect to enter the transfer portal for a multitude of reasons, such playing time, development, increased NIL money, a step-up in competition, and a myriad of others. But, Athlon Sports is reporting a unique reason, a mandatory Lil Wayne concert. Here’s more.
The Colorado Buffaloes had a huge weekend for the Spring Game at the end of April. It was a star-studded affair which included a concert with five-time Grammy Award winner Lil Wayne at CU Events Center. However, not all the details from Coach Prime’s major event were spectacular. According to CU player sources, Sanders made the concert mandatory for all his players and reportedly threatened to dismiss anyone who skipped out.
