Conor McGregor has finally addressed putting the Miami Heat mascot in the hospital with a couple of punches during Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
In case you somehow missed it, “The Notorious One” was brought on to the court during a stop in the action during the game.
He was joined by the Burnie, the Heat mascot, who walked up to the MMA star dancing at mid-court while wearing a pair of oversized boxing gloves.
For some reason, the powers that be thought that McGregor throwing a haymaker at the mascot then following up with a little ground and pound was the best way to promote his new pain relief spray.

Mostly, however, it just horrified a bunch of people in the arena.
Making matters worse, the person inside the mascot costume was legitimately injured by Conor’s punches.
Naturally, many fans automatically assumed another lawsuit was headed McGregor’s way.

After the weird scene in Miami, even UFC president Dana White didn’t know what to think.
“I saw the Deontay Wilder one too; what’s up with mascots getting punched in the face by professional fighters? What do you expect?” White said after Saturday night’s UFC 289 event. “What are those mascot things made out of, unless you’re like the Golden Knights mascot…with a metal helmet, I wouldn’t have professional fighters punch me in the face if I was a mascot, doesn’t seem like the brightest thing in the world.”
Instead, on Tuesday, TMZ caught up to Conor McGregor in New York City who told them, “The mascot is good. It was a skit, and all is well. I spent a lot of time with him afterward, we talked it out, everything is great. It was all part of the show!”
