MMA star Conor McGregor was involved in a serious incident early Friday morning. According to him, it could’ve been life threatening.
The fighter was hit by a car at full speed while riding on his bicycle. McGregor posted a detailed account of the interaction to his Instagram account.
The clip picks up after McGregor has been struck by the vehicle, and it shows him filming the scene while filling viewers in on what happened. On the ground lays his bike, while a car and its driver are spotted just a bit up the road.

“I could’ve been dead,” Conor McGregor exclaimed in the video, which was accompanied by the following caption:
Got a bang of a car just now from behind. A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Full speed straight through me. Thank you, God. It wasn’t my time. Thank you wrestling and judo also. Having an awareness on the landing saved my life.”
He doesn’t blame the driver of the car one bit, noting that the sun blinded the man behind the wheel. In fact, the fighter was as calm as can be about the situation, even getting a ride home from the same driver that hit him.
That reaction had many on the internet stunned.
McGregor and his short temper go hand in hand. It’s part of his persona as a combat fighter, but unfortunately, it often spills over into his personal life, too.
He was accused of kicking and punching a 42-year-old woman at his most recent birthday party and has also been involved in bar fights and altercations with fans.
But on Friday, viewers saw another side of the Irishman.
One fan wrote, “Conor couldn’t have handled this situation more perfectly,” in response to McGregor’s viral video.
Another person commented, “Gotta give props to Conor.” The situation could’ve easily gone in another direction.
