Cowboys fans aren’t happy with one NFL rule after it cost them big vs Lions on Saturday night.
In the first half of the Cowboys–Lions game, Dallas found themselves near the red zone, hoping to extend their 7-3 lead. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott hit wide receiver CeeDee Lamb near the sideline on a pass play, and Lamb fumbled the ball into the endzone.
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, the play was called a touchback, and the Lions were given the ball.

Cowboys fans on social media ripped the out-of-bounds touchback rule on social media.
“Fumbling out of the endzone being a touchback will forever be the dumbest rule in all of sports. Anywhere else on the field a forward fumble out of bounds comes back to the spot of the fumble, do the same thing in the end zone it’s not that hard.’ said one fan.
“The worst rule in football strikes again. So awful. Get rid of it now.Fumble out of bounds through end zone and possession changes and team that didn’t recover gets 20% of the field.” commented another fan.
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the NFL will discuss changing the rule during the offseason.
The NFL is going to look at it in the offseason…. But that doesn’t help tonight. https://t.co/nlKb8LlhbR
