The Dallas Cowboys could see their coaching staff go through big changes this offseason.
According to Jerry Jones, Mike McCarthy’s job is safe even if the Cowboys lose to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, but that doesn’t mean their coordinators will be sticking around beyond this season.
Dan Quinn has head coaching experience in the NFL and was a popular name for openings last season. He wasn’t their only coordinator getting attention last season.
Offensive coordinator Kellen Moore also got interviews for head coaching positions last season and now it looks like that will be the case again this offseason.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Carolina Panthers have requested permission to interview Moore for their vacant head coaching position.

For some reason, Cowboys fans on social media seem to be happy about this development, which is absolutely baffling to me.
The Cowboys have been one of the NFL’s highest scoring offenses since Dak Prescott returned from injury. The Cowboys topped 40 points 4 times after Dak’s return and only scored less than 27 points once in the last 10 weeks.
Moore has helped keep the Cowboys offense potent despite the insistence of the team’s owner that Ezekiel Elliott should continue to get regular touches despite being the Cowboys’ 2nd most effective running back.
The offense has also remained formidable despite having a clear need at receiver after trading Amari Cooper during the offseason.
It’s just about inevitable that Kellen Moore will be an NFL head coach one of these days with how quickly he has been able to become a successful coordinator. Whenever that day comes, the Dallas Cowboys and their fans will miss him.
