Dan Patrick is one of the most beloved figures in sports media, as he’s been in the business since 1989.
With that said, it sounds like Patrick is beginning to think about the end of his career, as he spoke about it with the Dannette’s on The Dan Patrick Show.
The crew was discussing what they would do if they won the Powerball and they decided they would split the $1 billion prize. However, Patrick made sure to claim “but we’re all going to continue working.”
That’s when the conversation shifted towards Dan Patrick’s eventual retirement.
The popular sports figure then announced that he has a four-year plan in place. At first, nobody believed him. But Patrick was seemed adamant about his announcement.
Here’s what Dan Patrick had to say about his newly announced retirement plan.
“Here is the breaking news. So, four more years in December, that’s how long I’m gonna do this for. Four and a half years, I’m gonna do this… by January of 2028 I will be on The Golden Bachelor. That’s it. That’s all I’m doing. That’s when the microphone gets turned off for the final time.”
So, there you have it. If Patrick is telling the truth, we’ll have four more years of The Dan Patrick Show.
However, there’s plenty of time between now and January 2028. For all we know, Dan Patrick could change his mind in the next four years and choose to stay on the air for longer.
With that in mind, it’s a bit odd for him to make this announcement four years ahead of schedule. I mean, does he expect to have a four-year long farewell tour?
Who knows at this point? But Dan Patrick fans don’t like the retirement news regardless.
Going to miss Dan as a Long Time Fan of him on @SNFonNBC Football Night in America Studio Show with @TonyDungy, and @Rodney_Harrison, but looking forward to continue listening to him until that time he retires.
