During his postfight press conference, White said he believed the score was 2-2 going into the fourth round and thought that Strickland should have pulled off the win.
“I had it 2 to 2, going into the last round, and I thought Strickland won the last round. Guys sitting at the same table had it the other way and you know it was a close fight. I thought Strickland looked great in the first two rounds…he slowed down in the third and fourthDu Plessis kept coming forward and I had it even going into the fifth round…it was just one of those type fights, but I’m also one of those guys that thinks you need to take it from the champion.”
