There are a ton of question marks surrounding the Green Bay Packers roster right now. Aaron Rodgers could retire during the offseason. He could leave for another team. Robert Tonyan, De’Vondre Campbell, and Allen Lazard are all becoming free agents. The Packers are already projected to be nearly $40 million over the cap.

Then there’s the really big question that they’ll have to answer this offseason. What are the Green Bay Packers going to do with Davante Adams?

Adams is also heading for free agency this offseason and there are a number of options for how this could play out. The Packers could franchise tag Adams. They could negotiate a long-term deal to basically make sure he spends his whole career in Green Bay. He could also go sign with any of the teams that would want to roster the league’s best receiver.

Yesterday, we learned the only thing we know for sure. According to Tony Pauline of “Pro Football Network”, Davante Adams is expecting to get PAID.

Pauline’s report says that Davante Adams is looking for somewhere around $30 million a year on his next contract. The report also states that Packers might not go any higher than 24 or 25.

If the Packers make the egregious error of letting Adams walk, teams should be lining up to pay him 30 mil a year. Davante Adams is the type of player that could completely change an offense.

The man put up 1553 yards this season in spite of missing one game because of league protocols, spending one game with Jordan Love throwing him the ball, and sitting out the second half in week 18.

Simply put, Davante Adams is the best receiver in football, was last year, and should continue to be for the next few years. Could you imagine the impact he would have on the career of somebody like Daniel Jones or his college teammate, Derek Carr?

What about Jalen Hurts with a true WR1? Or Carson Wentz getting one for the first time in his career? Or there are any number of rookie QBs who could have their career trajectory changed. Give Justin Fields, Mac Jones, or Trevor Lawrence the best receiver in the league and see what they can accomplish.

At the end of the day, Davante Adams is one of the most dominant players in football and could completely change the fortunes of any football team he goes to. The man deserves to be paid like it.
