The overtime rules in the NFL are pretty terrible and Sunday’s Titans-Texans game exemplified why the league should probably look into changing them next season.
Before overtime of the Texans-Titans game, Texans QB Deshaun Watson instantly knew the game was over when the team lost the coin toss.

Of course, the Titans gave the ball to Derrick Henry in OT and he was absolutely unstoppable.

Henry eventually scored the game-winning TD that prevented the Texans from getting the ball back and fans immediately complained about the overtime rules.

There is no reason a game should be decided by a coin flip https://t.co/JbflSwcF2i

NFL prides itself on fairness. Its overtime rules are not. Game basically decided on coin flip. You can see the players know it. See Watson reaction. RT @BryanDFischer: When you lose the toss knowing Derrick Henry is getting the ball pic.twitter.com/q7hddaAkvg

Deshawn Watson's reaction after losing the toss tells it all. He knows the Titans are marching down the field to win the game with a TD here. (ps, I like the NFL overtime rules)
