Brandon Dart, the father of New York Giants quarterback Jackson Dart, wants to be very clear that his family is not soft. His youngest son, Diesel Dart, backed his dad’s declaration with a dominant performance in the second high school football game of his junior season.
He will hunt your head!
The 2025 high school football season featured a unique cross-country matchup in Florida over the weekend. Diesel was flying around like a banshee.
Jaxson Dart’s dad is not going to change.
As things currently stand, Jaxson Dart will likely be listed as the third-string quarterback for the New York Giants at the start of the regular season. It is very possible that he could get bumped to QB2 behind Russell Wilson, ahead of Jameis Winston. I don’t think so.
Either way — the No. 25 overall pick proved to be one of the biggest breakout stars of the preseason.
He needs to learn how to slide but that is just a part of who he is. Dart does not shy away from contact, even if it knocks the wind out of him like this hit against the Patriots:

That “dog in him” mindset was instilled by his father. CBS Sports analyst Chris Trapasso joked that “Jaxson Dart looks like the antagonist in a high school football movie, who we come to find out is actually nice but just has a miserable, hard-ass dad at home.”
Brandon Dart, Jaxson’s dad, agrees with half of that assessment. He rejects the rest.
“I’m far from miserable but I’m a Hard-Ass and that’ll never change,” Brandon wrote on X. “Dartsarentsoft!”
We know Jaxson isn’t soft. His brother is the same way.
Diesel Dart is a menace.
Jaxson’s little brother currently rates as a three-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2027. He plays both wide receiver and safety for Corner Canyon High School and already boasts offers from Arizona, Ole Miss, San Diego State, BYU, Auburn and UNLV.
That list will only continue to grow. Especially if he plays like he did against West Broward in Week 1 of the 2025 high school football season.
Things got intense during pregame but Diesel stood on business.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete proved the Dart family is indeed not soft during a 38-13 win in Florida.
He was all over the field!
Corner Canyon expects to compete for a state championship in Utah. Diesel Dart is going to play a huge role on both sides of the ball for the Chargers. Neither he nor his family are soft.
