Dricus Du Plessis was forced to attend an afterparty after his loss to Khamzat Chimaev. On Saturday night, Du Plessis got dominated by Chimaev for five rounds, and UFC CEO Dana White had him losing big on his personal scorecard.
“The way that he dominated, if he could do it the first round, more likely you’re going to do it the second and throughout the rest of the fight.”
“I had every round a 10-8, except maybe for the last round,” White said. “To be in the position that the was in, and the crucifix and just getting dominated on the ground and getting punched on the face and elbowed, it’s a frustrating place to be, and I thought he handled it well. Every round trying to get in the fight and win, yeah, impressive.”
Ahead of his fight, Du Plessis promoted his afterparty at a local Chicago club. Unfortunately for Du Plessis, he was forced to attend his afterparty after getting embarrassed by Chimaev the night before.

Despite getting dominated, Du Plessis’ coach is calling for a rematch against Chimaev.
“We’re gonna fight Khamzat and we’re gonna destroy him this time, and I know it sounds so easy. I would rather spend time fixing our problem than running back into the cage and taking another fight.”

Considering how angry fans were with how the fight played out, it’s unlikely Du Plessis receives another title shot against Chimaev any time soon.
