You’d be hard-pressed to find a harder working dude in show business than Dwayne Johnson, who’s been grinding since his days as a football player at the University of Miami. After establishing himself as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time, he decided to turn his attention to Hollywood, where he balances his early morning workouts in his personal gym with a jam-packed filming schedule (although he’s handsomely rewarded for his troubles).
Johnson might have made a career out of starring in matches with a predetermined outcome, but it’s clear he has a great amount of respect for the guys who also put their body on the line without pulling any punches. On Sunday, he decided to sit down and watch Notorious, the documentary chronicling the life of the UFC star-turned-boxer-turned-potential felon, and it appears he’s a big fan of the Irishman.
Johnson shared a screenshot in an Instagram post praising McGregor’s work ethic (and let the world know that he watches movies on his laptop for some reason).
It turns out the post might have sparked a bromance I didn’t know I needed in my life until now.
McGregor responded with a post of his own thanking the man formerly known as “The Rock” and acknowledged Johnson has provided him with plenty of inspiration over the course of his career—pulling out some Samoan in the process.
Considering “Uce” is slang for “brother,” I can’t think of a more appropriate way to sum up the interaction than this:
I can only hope the answer is “Yup!”
