The announcement that Vince McMahon is bringing back the XFL raised a whole lot of questions.
Will they be going head-to-head with the NFL, both with their schedule as well as signing players? Will players be forced to stand for the national anthem? Will the league once again be using WWE personalities and silly, lowbrow tactics to try to lure viewers? And most importantly, will the players once again be able to put whatever nickname they want on the backs of their jerseys?
Say what you will about the original XFL, the nickname thing was one of the few gimmicks the league used that people still remember very clearly to this day. And it’s no wonder, check out a few examples below.

Speaking of nicknames and creativity (or lack thereof), several Eagles and Patriots players were asked during media sessions at Super Bowl LII what their XFL nicknames would be. They came up with some decent answers, but could definitely done better.
