LSU star Angel Reese has been through hell and back in the past year.
After LSU’s loss to Iowa, Reese opened up about being attacked and criticized since winning the national championship last year.
“I’ve been through so much, I’ve been attacked so many times, death threats, I’ve been sexualized, I’ve been so many things and I’ve stood strong every single time”
“I just want them to just know that I’m still human”
“All this has happened since winning the national championship, and I haven’t had peace since then, and it sucks but I still wouldn’t change anything and I would still sit here and say that I’m unapologetically me, I’m going to always leave that mark and be who I am…and hopefully the little girls that look up to me, I can give them some inspiration.”

During Monday night’s postgame press conference, Reese got extremely emotional when teammate Flau’jae Johnson came to her defense against critics who have dubbed Reese a “villain.”
‘Everybody can have their opinion on Angel Reese, but ya’ll don’t know her, I know Angel Reese, I know the real Angel Reese and the person I see every day is a strong person, it’s a caring, loving person. The crown she wears is heavy, she’s the type of teammate that makes you want to believe in yourself. The leap I took from freshman to sophomore year, Angel gave me that confidence to go be a dog.”
“The media, how ya’ll try to twist it and call her a villain, ya’ll don’t know Angel”
