People often tell athletes to “stick to sports” when it comes to topics from elsewhere. But, Entertainment Tonight proved they may need to stick to entertainment after publishing a hilarious article with an even worse caption regarding Travis Kelce missing Taylor Swift’s star-studded birthday dinner on Wednesday.

This just in folks. NFL players have to attend practice! Who knew! Clearly Entertainment Tonight thought that may be confusing to many.
Swift has been spending a lot of time with Travis Kelce in Kansas City, but she flew back to Manhattan soon after the team’s dramatic loss to the Packers. Obviously, Kelce couldn’t join her in New York as the Chiefs look to snap a two-game losing streak when they take on the Patriots on Sunday.
But, let’s dig deeper into this truly insane quote.
“A source tells ET that the NFL star “remains committed to playing his best and doing his best on and off the field. The team practices are critical, mandatory to attend, and something he takes very seriously. So, it’s no surprise he stayed in Kansas City ahead of this weekend’s game.”
Why did they need a source for this? Why did the source need to be unnamed? They could’ve just walked into a random Kansas City business and asked patrons about it.
“Practices are critical, mandatory to attend.” That’s news to absolutely no one, except people so internet-brained they’ve never realized that for athletes, work means going to practice and games.
Congrats to Taylor on her 34th birthday, though.
