ESPN Blasted Over Excessive Bronny James Coverage During His Four-Point Summer League Debut

Bronny James didn’t have a great game in his Summer League debut, but you wouldn’t have known that if you had followed ESPN today.

On Saturday afternoon, Bronny played in his first Summer League game and only scored 4 points, with 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 22 minutes of playing time.

Despite having a subpar game, Bronny was featured heavily on ESPN.com’s homepage.

Several fans also complained about getting ESPN alerts throughout the day, only to find out later that he scored only 4 points in the game.

“I got three ESPN alerts today about Bronny. I didn’t watch at all. I expected to see a box score of 20+ points. He had 4 points on 2/9 from the field,” said one fan on social media.

Even the NBA has been excessively marketing Bronny James during the Summer League.

It’s clear that Bronny James is a star and that most fans wouldn’t care about Summer League unless he played this year, but ESPN might be overdoing it with their coverage.
