For the past year the Monday Night Football team has received plenty of criticism for being pretty terrible all-around.
During today’s Colts-Texans AFC wildcard playoff game, color commentator Booger McFarland had an absolutely idiotic take about JJ Watt deflecting the ball at the line of scrimmage instead of going for the sack.
Here's the video, Booger is criticizing J.J. Watt for making a stop on defense that was a deflection instead of a sack in a play where the QB got rid of the ball quickly. Smh
Watt also created a turnover in the game earlier, a deflection that led to INT.pic.twitter.com/WxscNi5udR

Of course the Internet went on to rip McFarland to shreds over his dumb take.

Booger is chastising Watt for batting a ball… what is this?

Booger McFarland on JJ watt (after he bats the ball down): “They don’t pay you to bat balls down as a defensive end”
Bruh, what? 😂😂

Booger said JJ Watt isn’t a 3-time DPOY because he batted balls. My goodness. Terrible analysis, man.

Booger McFarland is awful. Honestly terrible. Worst I’ve ever heard in a booth. No idea how he got this job and Kurt Warner is still doing radio. #ColtsTexans

Booger: “J.J. Watt isn’t a great player because he bats passes.”
(Graphic appears saying Watt has the most batted passes since 2011, lol.)
(Also, a Watt batted pass created the only big play of the day for Houston.)
