Can a kicker really be swaggy? Because 22-year-old Cincinnati Bengals kicker Evan McPherson has got some serious swag.
After making back to back game winning field goals in the AFC Divisional and the AFC Championship, the Bengals rookie is about as confident as an athlete can get.
First, two Sundays ago, he nailed a 52 yard game winner against the number one seeded Tennessee Titans. It was revealed after the game that McPherson told quarterback Joe Burrow as he headed out on to the field for the kick, “Looks like we’re going to the AFC Championship Game.”

Then, this past Sunday, with a Super Bowl berth on the line, Evan McPherson drove home a 31 yard game winner in overtime against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Evan McPherson reveals what he told his holder before AFC Championship kick
On Tuesday, he broke down what he told his holder just prior to making that historic kick for TMZ.
“Before I took my steps back, I was just like, ‘All right, man. Let’s just be legendary,'” McPherson said he told holder Kevin Huber. “I said this is where legends are made.
“And so I was like, ‘Let’s just be legendary. Let’s put this ball through and let’s go to the Super Bowl.’
“So that’s a super cool moment I had with Kevin right there.”
Calling it “super cool” is a massive understatement.
Then again, McPherson kicked five game-winning field goals in his rookie season for the Bengals, including going 12 for 12 in the playoffs.
No wonder he filed to trademark the nickname “Money Mac” before he even kicked the game winner in the AFC Championship Game.

Naturally, the internet, because it’s the internet, believes this much swagger will certainly come back to haunt Evan McPherson at the worst possible time.
Last time a kicker did this it was Michael Badgley and after he did it he missed like half of his kicks 😂 hopefully doesnt go the same way

Dude is 100% going to miss a kick to win the Super Bowl now.

A tip for @McPherson_Evan: You can call yourself whatever you want, but don’t ever trademark a nickname. Kickers tend to suck after doing that. https://t.co/fvKToRvHtk
