The Atlanta Falcons stunned everyone last night when they selected Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth-overall pick after previously giving Kirk Cousins $100 million guaranteed this offseason. It was a pick that truly made no sense, and has been universally panned.
They had a chance to at least partially redeem themselves with the 35th-overall pick in the draft early in Round 2 on Friday night. They did not do that.
Instead, the Atlanta Falcons hilariously reached for Clemson defensive tackle Duke Orhorhoro,
It’s a terrible, terrible, reach. Most had Orhorhoho as a third-rounder. Instead, the Falcons traded up and picked him just three picks into the second round round!
Clemson DT Ruke Orhorhoro at no. 35 to Atlanta is now the biggest "reach" of the draft, per to Arif's media consensus board.
The Falcons have the two biggest reaches of the draft thus far with Orhorhoro and Michael Penix Jr. at no. 8 overall.

Obviously, the Falcons have a higher grade than most on Orhorhoro. But, if that’s the case, they should’ve traded back and got their guy later in the 2nd round! Instead, they traded up.
It’s new General Manager’s Terry Fontenot’s first draft as an NFL GM, and he’s getting a lot of heat on Twitter.
I’m convinced Falcons GM Terry Fontenot is George Costanza when he keeps trying to get fired and keeps getting promoted https://t.co/U505Viy8cP pic.twitter.com/VfPSQCizOm

Sorry, Falcons fans.
