Antonio Brown has made his plans known for the upcoming season. And it won’t involve playing football games.
In an interview with the Fan Controlled Football League, the talented pass catcher said that he is done with the NFL. Take a listen.
“Obviously, we live the game, but you can’t play forever. I think I’m a great player that’s done everything in the game.”
Brown’s career spanned from 12 seasons. He played nine years in Pittsburgh before finishing up with the Patriots and Buccaneers. Brown hauled in 928 passes for 12,291 yards and 83 scores. He twice led the NFL in receiving and became one of the most feared receivers in the game.
That time has since passed as he failed to record a 1,000-yard campaign over the last three years.
When asked if he’d ever suit up again, he had the following to say.
“Nah, don’t play yourself looking at me to play.”
Instead, it seems like he’s ready to focus on his music and entertainment career.
Brown went viral for his NFL exit in the 2021 season. The wide receiver stormed out of the Bucs’ contest with the Jets midgame, ripping off his jersey and pads before heading back to the locker room. Not surprisingly, he was cut from the team shortly after.
Following his departure, he then posted some bizarre x-rays of an ankle injury that he claims the team was trying to make him play through.
Despite the alleged injury, he refused to get surgery.
Brown hasn’t garnered any interest from NFL teams this offseason, meaning he likely didn’t have much choice in the decision. And fans were quick to react to the news on social media.

Brown said earlier this month that he wanted to retire a Steeler. It doesn’t look like he’ll get that opportunity.
