It took just one challenged pass interference call for NFL fans to completely lose their minds about how much they hate the league’s new rule. Not bad. The NFL made it a whole 26 minutes and 51 seconds into the first preseason game before causing a brand new controversy. I would have bet the under on that.
The historic moment occured with 3:19 left in the second quarter of the Hall of Fame game between the Broncos and Falcons when Denver’s new head coach Vic Fangio decided to break in his red challenge flag after one of his defensive backs was penalized for pass interference.
After viewers were treated to FOUR replays of the receiver and defensive back jostling for a ball that landed five yards in front of them, along with some riveting analysis of the non-play by former NFL referee Terry McAulay and a quick peek at referee Walt Anderson staring at a monitor, Fangio ended up losing the challenge. So, basically… it was all for nothing. Awesome.

That is some really good TV right there, isn’t it?
If you said, “No, Douglas, that is not really good TV,” you’re not alone. Not by a long shot. Take it away, Twitter.
One defensive PI challenge and I’m already annoyed.

"new pass interference challenge rule is for 1 year." even the nfl knows this rule is stupid. so asinine to placate a whiny sean payton and the aints organization

Hope you’re happy, New Orleans.
