Another domino has fallen in the NFL coaching carousel. The Miami Dolphins head coaching search had been one of the quieter ones since they fired Brian Flores, but now they’ve found their man. Today, they took to Twitter to announce that 49ers offensive coordinator, Mike McDaniel, would be their new head coach.

The move comes as a bit of a surprise as McDaniel was one of the least experienced options being interviewed for a head coaching position this offseason. He spent only one season as the 49ers’ OC.
That hasn’t deterred Miami Dolphins fans from getting excited about the hiring of Mike McDaniel.

This move is most likely an effort from the Dolphins to try and get a return on their investment in Tua Tagovailoa. He has been somewhat disappointing in his first couple off seasons, but the Dolphins are committed to him as their franchise quarterback.
If McDaniel can help him become the QB the Dolphins expected when they drafted him, this move will be viewed as a major success. Otherwise, there will be a ton of questions about why the Dolphins fired a coach coming off of two consecutive winning seasons to bring in a replacement with so little experience.
