College Football fans are yet again worried about the health of legendary ESPN “College Gameday” host Lee Corso after he was absent from Saturday morning’s episode in Eugene, Oregon.
Corso, 89, has worked a modified schedule in recent years and has often only joined the show for its final segment to pick games.
But fans began to raise concern after the longtime host was noticeably absent altogether on Saturday morning. He also missed last weekend’s episode from Berekeley, California.
“He’s not going to be here this week. He’s doing better. He’s been a little bit under the weather for the last couple of week,” host Rece Davis said of Corso’s absence. “He said he was sorry he was missing his best friend, the Duck.”
Corso has dealt with health issues throughout the last few seasons. But he says that he doesn’t plan on stepping away anytime soon.
When asked about eventually leaving “College GameDay”, Corso told GQ that “I’m gonna be like that guy in Vaudeville. They hook him around the neck, and they pull him off the stage as he keeps talking.”
That still didn’t stop fans from showing their concern about the beloved host.
I’m really worried about Lee Corso.

Corso began working on College Gameday in its inaugural season, 1987. He’s a staple of the show and beloved by fans across the country.
But his age and health have become constant concerns. Fans are starting to wonder when and if he will ever retire. Much like Dick Vitale on ESPN college basketball broadcasts, it’s hard to imagine a world without Corso on TV. But it may have to happen if he can’t stay healthy.
