Customers at a Chuck E. Cheese in Burbank, California got treated to a show they certainly didn’t expect when a woman got trapped inside one of the restaurant’s arcade games that is intended for children. The woman was so stuck in the Snow Day game that firefighters had to be called in to rescue her. Of course, the whole thing was caught on video.
How did she get stuck?
According to NBC 4 News in Los Angeles, Snow Day players step inside a clear tube and attempt to place balls into a scoring hole to win tickets and prizes. What they do not do is, according to a Chuck E. Cheese spokesperson, “stick their arm in a hole not intended for hands or arms.”
“We prioritize children’s safety above all and have verified that the game poses no risk to our young guests. The design prevents children’s arms from reaching the area in question. There was no injury to the young adult, or any children and the family continued to enjoy an evening of fun with the family,” said the Chuck E. Cheese spokesperson.
The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. and, according to video shared on social media, provided quite the spectacle for numerous employees, children and Chuck E. Cheese customers. It reportedly took firefighters 20 minutes to free the woman’s arm from the Snow Day game. Once free, according to the Chuck E. Cheese spokesperson, the woman “continued to enjoy an evening of fun with the family.”
According to Coastal Amusements’ website, “Snow Day’s fast paced action will thrill children as the soft play balls ‘snow’ down on their heads. Watch the smiles and listen to the laughter as the children gather the balls and place them into the scoring hole. The more balls collected, the more tickets you win. Snow Day is a perfect game for the younger audience and fills an under-served age gap in our industry. Test out your skill inside SNOW DAY!”
What people are saying
“Chuck E Cheese is getting expensive, now it costs an arm and a leg,” one person commented on the NBC 4 News video of the incident.
“Lady, are you just holding onto the ball?” someone else joked, quoting The Simpsons.
“I like the crime scene tape,” another viewer wrote.
“More like… Stuck E. Cheese,” read another comment.
Hopefully, the recently opened Chuck E. Cheese spinoff restaurants created for adults don’t have a version of the Snow Day game… or any claw machines.
