Giannis Antetokounmpo Urges Bucks Fans Not To Chant ‘M-V-P!’ And His Reason Is Proof That He’s Out For Blood

There are very few people on this planet who go into their place of work and are greeted with crowds of commoners chanting “M-V-P!” Can you imagine the dopamine rush of crafting out a “Per my last email” message, hitting send, and then being showered with adulation. Inject that shit in my veins, my fragile ego needs all the positive reinforcement it can muster.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a tad bit more secure in his offerings and abilities.

Giannis–who averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals per game last season–took the stage Sunday in front of 20,000 Milwaukee fans at Fiserv Forum to pay their respects to the MVP.

“M-V-P!” chants echoed throughout the crowd, but the 24-year-old ain’t about that life. His message was surprising and indicative that the Greek Freak is out for blood next season.

“After this day, July 14, please, please, please do me a huge favor, so I can be better, I can be a better player, so I can bring this city a championship. Please don’t call me MVP. Listen, listen, listen, listen. Please, after this day, don’t call me MVP until I win it again next year.”

As Sports Illustrated points out, Giannis recently spoke to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk and said he is at only “60 percent” of his full potential.
