Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is one of the top young quarterbacks in the NFL. But he may be headed for a long stint on the sideline after suffering an ugly knee injury at the end of Friday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Love injured his knee while dropping back to pass late in the 34-29 loss. It appeared to be a freak injury. But Green Bay fans now believe that Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter intentionally twisted Love’s leg in hopes of injuring the young star.
Jordan Love likely suffered ACL and MCL injuries based on this video. It is still possible to walk after an ACL injury. Very unfortunate for Love and the Packers.

Carter grabbed ahold of Love’s lower leg as the Packers signal caller attempted to escape the pocket. At the same time, Carter’s teammate Josh Sweat his love, seemingly causing his knee to bend at an awkward angle.
By most accounts, it was just an unfortunate football play. But not everybody saw things that way.
“Jalen Carter should receive a hefty fine for this imo. Not a football play whatsoever,” one fan wrote.
“Jalen Carter did not have to grab Love’s leg, Sweat already was bringing him down dirty play from a criminal who shouldn’t be in the league,” said another.
And it didn’t stop there.
“Jalen Carter holds an ankle and rolls his body onto the side of the leg, very intentional way to hurt someone and maybe end a career. Fine or suspension likely but certainly a reputation for a dirty a player cemented. @NFL needs to do something about this stuff and stop this guy,” a third fan stated.
Carter went to check on Love immediately after the game ended. But that didn’t quell fans’ anger. He posted an Instgram story showing several direct messages from angry fans.
Carter’s past doesn’t do him any favors. But this all feels a bit ridiculous. Sometimes players get injured. It’s part of football. We just hope Love makes a full recovery.
Thankfully, Tom Pelissero of NFL Netowrk reports that “tests indicated Jordan Love’s ACL is intact. But there’s a wide range of outcomes based on additional scans, which will occur when the team gets back to Green Bay later today.”
