The Philadelphia Eagles overcame the Washington Commanders on Thursday night by a score of 26-18, improving their record to 8-2. Following the game, the two main storylines have been the game-winning performance from MVP candidate Saquon Barkley and a potential concussion suffered by QB Jalen Hurts.

Following a pair of blows to the head in the second quarter, Jalen Hurts was taken to the medical “blue tent” to be evaluated for a concussion before ultimately returning to the game. When speaking to reporters after the win, Hurts said of the concussion protocol, “I guess beat [it],” which is an answer that might catch the attention of the league office.

After the win, Hurts did an interview with Scott Van Pelt for his late-night edition of SportsCenter and trolled the beloved ESPN anchor, who is from the DMV area, about beating the Commanders. The interview, however, seemed to only serve to further convince NFL fans that Hurts suffered a concussion against Washington.

“Jalen Hurts definitely played concussed last night. All the postgame interviews…yeah, dead give away,” one Eagles fan tweeted.
“Hurts might actually be concussed like actually no funny s— you can kinda see it in his face,” added another.
“Jalen hurts smiled, joked and wore sunglasses at midnight. That dude was concussed,” reasoned a third.
With the win over the Commanders, the 8-2 Eagles now sit in pole position to win the NFC East as they’ve opened up a two-game lead over Washington, including owning the tiebreaker. The two teams will face off again on December 22 in what will likely be a crucial game in deciding the fate of the NFC East crown this season.
