Ja’marr Chase may not have ended his rookie year in the way he’d hoped after narrowly missing out on a chance to become the hero of Super Bowl LVI on the play that ensured the Rams would hoist the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday night.

With that said, the Bengals wide receiver has plenty to be proud of. Chase secured Offensive Rookie of the Year honors thanks to his stellar performance on a squad that appears to have a very bright future ahead of it, and he and Joe Burrow are in a prime position to improve their already impressive chemistry during the offseason.

Chase and his teammates received a very warm welcome from the mass of fans who gathered to welcome them back to Cincinnati following their defeat, and earlier this week, the wideout returned the favor to a number of supporters in the city who got a very unexpected surprise while grabbing some chicken fingers at Raising Cane’s.

On Wednesday, Chase hopped behind the counter at one of the chain’s locations to take orders, man the drive-thru, and dole out cups of the magical nectar that is Cane’s sauce to customers over the course of his brief shift.

If Chase is still bitter about the Super Bowl loss, he did a great job hiding it, as he appeared to take as much pleasure in the job as the people who had their day made after he greeted them.

I also can’t think of a better place he could’ve worked if he was hoping to raise his spirits, as there aren’t many things in life that a couple of pieces of Raising Cane’s Texas toast can’t fix.
