The Masters is a hallowed golf tournament filled with an excessive amount of traditions, whether we’re talking about the presentation of the iconic green jacket on Sunday or John Daly selling swag out of an RV in the parking lot of the Augusta Hooters. It’s also known for its famously inexpensive concessions menu, making it one of the only sporting events in the world where you can purchase a beer for less than $10.
There’s another tradition that I’m particularly fond of: collecting as many cups as possible over the course of the day and seeing how high you can stack them. It’s basically The Masters’ version of Wizard Staff and I look forward to it every single year.

The tournament’s signature cups got another moment in the spotlight in the first round on Thursday thanks to Jason Day, who somehow managed to hit his second shot on the first hole off of a tree and into a spectator’s drink. The fan did what you traditionally do when a PGA player manages to hit his ball into your beer: chug it before handing it back to them.

According to Bleacher Report, course officials told Day that he would have to identify his ball before he was able to take his third shot as if there was some chance someone else in his group had also accidentally managed to get their ball into a cup before they intended too.
Day would go on to bogey the hole while the fan got a story he can tell people on the 19th hole for the rest of his life.
