The Dallas Cowboys have lost three straight games and a fourth consecutive loss on Sunday against a Rams team that’s coming off a huge win against Seattle feels like it could compromise Jerry Jones’ immune system. Screw the petty storylines surrounding Jason Garrett’s job security, a 77-year-old man is not built to withstand this much defeat. Pray for Jerry.
Given that context, you can bet Jerry Jones’ bottom dollar that Sunday’s home game is a must win for Dallas, and Jason Garrett is going to unusual lengths to instill confidence in a team that has about as much as self-assurance than I did showing up to junior prom solo with a huge pimple on my forehead.
Garrett’s motivational tactic: remind his players that at one point in time, they were capable of not sucking.
In effort to get the Cowboy out of their slump coach Jason Garrett showed his team a reel of their highlight plays this week to show them how good they are at their best. It included a few plays from last season.#coaching

“Alright guys. I want you to look at how comfortable Dak is in the pocket in this clip. This is precisely why Dak would ultimately lead his high school squad to become 2010 District 1-AAAA Champions.”
“Coach, um, is that a, VHS?”
What’s next, Garrett is going to send his team out for sprints and surprise them with an ice cream social?

The saddest part about being contractually obligated to make fun of Jason Garrett is that he seems, by all metrics, to be a really nice guy. I would say nice guy’s finish last, but that mantra doesn’t apply to the putrid NFC East. The 6-7 Cowboys are somehow still atop that division.
