With reports and rumors continuing to pick up about the Saudi Golf League, seemingly every PGA Tour player has been asked to share their thoughts about the proposed breakaway tour.

Some players haven’t offered too much insight into things, others have completely shut down the idea of making the jump, while a select few, like Jason Kokrak, have talked about the glaring benefit of possibly making the move: money.

Dan Rapaport of Golf Digest spoke with the three-time PGA Tour winner about the SGL. Kokrak explained that he has been in talks with the Saudi league and appears to be weighing his options because “he wants to make a bunch of money so he can retire at 44” and watch his kids grow up.

As Rapaport noted, one of Kokrak’s main sponsors is Golf Saudi.

You can hate the idea of the Saudi Golf League all you want, but you have to respect this answer from Kokrak.

Money, money, and more money are quite frankly the only driving factors behind the SGL. Players will make guaranteed money and more money based on their finishes in the rumored to be no-cut events.

Kokrak has earned over $18 million on the PGA Tour. That’s a huge sum of money, but the Saudi league could very well be offering him that much upfront to simply join forces with them.

The SGL reportedly offered Bryson DeChambeau over $130 million to make the jump. Kokrak isn’t nearly as popular as DeChambeau is on the world stage, but he is the No. 25 ranked player in the world right now. The Saudis will surely be willing to write quite a hefty check to get any Top 50 players in the world.
