What an all-time low the New York Jets have hit this season as they now sit at 0-7. Not even midway through the year and Jets fans (whatever of them are left) are already calling for head coach Adam Gase to be fired and the talk of tanking for Clemson phenom Trevor Lawrence is at an all-time high.

Except, when you are as bad as the Jets are, you really don’t have the choice on whether or not you are going to tank and pack it in, you just tank because your roster gives you no choice but to do so. However, as bad as the Jets season has been, nothing is a bigger slap in the face than being listed as 21.5 point underdogs. The Chiefs are favored by 20 as of Monday afternoon over at BetMGM.

Early this week, NFL bettors jumped all over the highest spread deficit of the season and are calling on the Jets of all teams to win them some money. Westgate SuperBook oddsmaker Ed Salmons told the New York Post the number quickly dropped to 21 and then to 20.5 because of big bets on the Jets, and indications are the line will continue to drop as more people bet on New York.

Coming from a Jets fan, if you’re thinking of jumping on this as well, please do not do it. Is there a shot that the Jets will be able to keep the deficit under 22 points against the defending champs? Yes there is. But just don’t do it. Even if you cover the spread it is not worth it to spend three hours of your day rooting for a team that is beyond horrendous. Mark my words, they will by no means make it a cakewalk if they do cover. You deserve better than to put yourself through that type of punishment of being a Jets fan for a day.
