The New York Jets are certainly doing their best to load up on offensive talent as they aim to acquire future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers.
While the Jets have already signed pass catchers Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman, reports now indicate they’re also in legitimate contention to sign free agent wideout Odell Beckham Jr., with ESPN’s Jeff Darlington now reporting that he believes OBJ will end up back in NYC.
“We should very much consider Odell Beckham on the table for the Jets. Financials still in the way, but I still think Odell Beckham will end up with the Jets,” said ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.

Drafted out of LSU by the New York Giants as the #12 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, OBJ has caught 531 passes for 7,367 yards and 56 touchdowns during his eight-year NFL career. Beckham missed the entirety of the 2022 season due to an ACL injury, and his last 1,000-yard season came in 2019 with the Cleveland Browns.
During his last full year in the NFL — the 2021 season with both the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams — Beckham, a three-time Pro Bowler, had 44 catches for 537 yards and five touchdowns. The best seasons of his career came with Eli Manning and the New York Giants, especially the 2015 season, which saw him set career highs in yards (1,450) and touchdowns (13).
Beckham’s production was crucial to the Rams’ run to the Super Bowl title, though, as he caught 21 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns in four playoff games. Prior to going down with an ACL injury in Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals, Beckham caught two balls for 52 yards and a touchdown.
