Los Angeles Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh has coached football for a long time, and has coached some great quarterbacks like Andrew Luck and JJ McCarthy. He knows just how important a great quarterback is to a team’s success.
He’s got another great quarterback in Los Angeles in Justin Herbert. But, durability is always a concern for Herbert, and Harbaugh knows that.
Recently, Justin Herbert has been missing time due to a foot injury after missing four games last year due to a broken finger. And, the Chargers offense, stripped of talent like Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, looked pretty ugly without Herbert.
In last weekend’s 13-9 preseason loss to the Rams, the other two Chargers quarterbacks, Easton Stick and Luis Perez, were dreadful. Teh were 21-33 for just 160 yards, which is less than five yards per attempt. Even worse, the Chargers didn’t find the end zone all night. It’s only the preseason, but things looked dire. And, the Chargers offense was dreadful last year when Justin Herbert went down, too.
With less than three weeks to go before their season opener against the Raiders, it’s imperative that Herbert return to practice for the first time since July and get ready for the season. He made his return on Monday, and the often-funny Jim Harbaugh had yet another great one-liner.

Good one, Harbaugh.
It remains to be seen if Herbert will play against the Cowboys this weekend in the team’s final preseason game.
