The Arizona Cardinals suffered one of the most embarrassing losses of the 2025 NFL season so far, as they blew a 21-6 fourth quarter lead to the previously winless Tennessee Titans, dropping their record on the season to 2-3.

The key moment in the game came when running back Emari Demarcado, after breaking off a 71-yard run that should have been a touchdown, fumbled the ball at the goal line by celebrating too early, resulting in a touchback and the ball going to the Titans with the score still at 21-6.

From there, further fueled by fumbling an interception for a touchdown up 21-12 with less than 5 minutes left, the Cardinals would go on to lose the game 22-21.

After the fumble, a furious Johnathon Gannon, the third-year head coach of the Cardinals, could be seen chewing out Demercado on the sidelines for his bone-headed turnover.

The nature of the Cardinals’ loss to the Titans was so absurd that some NFL fans are calling it perhaps the most ridiculous collapse in NFL history (probably a bit of recency bias, but still).

Making the loss even more brutal for the Cardinals and their fans is that it’s the third straight game that the team has lost by 3 points or less since beginning the season 2-0. The Cardinals will look to get back in the win column next week against the Indianapolis Colts.
