Today has been a wild one for the NFL. Aaron Rodgers decided to stay with the Green Bay Packers. Russell Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos. Some big names were franchise tagged. Others weren’t franchise tagged and could now be heading to new teams.

It has been a day that has given football fans a lot to wrap their heads around. However, there is one individual who has probably had a little bit tougher of a time with the news than anybody else. That person is Jordan Love.

When the Green Bay Packers drafted Love nearly 3 years ago, it was expected that he would spend a couple of years developing behind Aaron Rodgers before taking over the starting job himself. It turns out that won’t be the case.

Instead, the Love pick now looks worse than ever and he is essentially left with two options for how his career will play out from here. One option is he can spend the next two years sitting behind Rodgers and try to get somebody to sign him as a 5th year player with minimal game experience.

The other option is for Love to be traded. The only question would be just what his current trade value is after being selected with a late 1st round pick and then sitting on the bench for two years.

Jim Nagy seems to have the answer to that question.

This would be a great return for the Packers if they can actually get it. They would recover some of the value of the pick they spent on Love and give themselves a 2nd round pick they can use to help Aaron Rodgers lead them to a Super Bowl.

It’s unclear who exactly it is that would be in the market for Love right now, but the best case scenario for him would be for the Packers to find an interested team. Love’s only chance to even compete for a starting job will have to come somewhere other than the team that drafted him.
