Over the weekend, the Cleveland Browns decided that they were going to part ways with troubled star wide receiver Josh Gordon after he injured himself while shooting a hype video for social media.

Gordon was granted permission by the Browns to conduct a photo shoot for his “Flash” clothing line Friday evening, but instead, he was participating in the filming of what one source called a “hype video” intended to be released as a social-media commercial. At least five other people were present as Gordon went through football-related drills, and after about 90 minutes of shooting Friday, the source said Gordon pulled up limping while running a 40-yard dash and grabbed at his hamstring.

When Gordon showed up to the team’s facility on Saturday morning, he was reportedly 10 minutes late for a team meeting and went to the training room where trainers discovered the injury and ruled him out for the game.

On Monday before getting traded to the New England Patriots, Josh Gordon uploaded a video of himself laughing while a news report played in the background claiming that he had violated the Browns’ trust.

Gordon also reacted to getting traded to Patriots a few hours later on Instagram with a picture of Celtics guard Terry Rozier wearing a Pats jersey.

We’ll have to wait and see if the Josh Gordon experiment works in New England but so far the whole saga has been entertaining.
