Green Bay Packers‘ defensive tackle Kenny Clark opened up about the team’s perception heading into the new season and showered effusive praise on their new starting quarterback, Jordan Love.
With the departure of Aaron Rodgers, expectations for the Packers are lower than usual, but Clark is unfazed and welcomes the underdog status.
After spending his entire career with the Packers since 2016, Clark is familiar with the high expectations often placed on the team.
When asked about the team being disrespected with lack of predictions for a deep playoff run this year, Clark expressed his sentiments.
“One hundred percent, but that’s cool,” Clark stated in an interview with CBS’s Zach Gelb, “I like it that way. This has been one of the first offseasons where we ain’t really been getting the credit, getting the love.”
“Everybody says Aaron determines whether we win or lose, so we love it. We’re going to embrace it. When it comes to Week One, when the season gets here, we’ll see how everything stacks up. We’re excited about it.”

Acknowledging that the absence of high expectations might be perceived as disrespect, Clark views it as an opportunity for the team to prove their resilience and potential.
Embracing the underdog role, the Packers are determined to showcase their strength as a cohesive unit, not solely dependent on any single player.
With all eyes on Jordan Love, who will be stepping into the starting quarterback role, much of the Packers’ success this season rests on his shoulders. Clark praised Love’s work ethic, emphasizing that it has had a positive impact on the entire team.
All eyes will be on Jordan Love as he leads the team through this transitional period without Aaron Rodgers. While expectations might be tempered, the Packers’ determination and unity will be their driving force.
